Collinsville High School students Laila Jaoko, Claire Wasser and Sara McChristian participated in the Illinois Student Advisory Council hosted by the Illinois State Board of Education today. 

Illinois State Board of Education Superintendent Dr. Tony Sanders and ISBE leaders hosted the event to hear student perspectives on the successes and challenges of Illinois public schools.

“Sara helped lead group discussions throughout the morning and afternoon, while Claire and Laila participated in roundtable discussions about AI, equity and access, college and career readiness, and culture and chronic absenteeism in our schools,” said Collinsville CUSD 10 Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich. “Claire, Laila and Sara were outstanding representatives of Unit 10.”
