Board Of Education Honors Maryville Elementary for National Blue Ribbon School Designation

During their October 21, 2024 regular monthly meeting, the Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education recognized Maryville Elementary School for their designation as a 2024 U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School.

Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich provided background on the significance of the award and introduced Maryville Principal Doug Kirk. 

Maryville Elementary was one of only 18 schools in the State of Illinois, and only 356 in the nation, to attain this status in 2024.  Maryville was highlighted as an Exemplary High Performing School. 

On behalf of the school, Mr. Kirk credited staff members, parents, the Village of Maryville and former principal Carmen Loemker for contributions that led to this prestigious achievement.  Kirk will travel to Washington D.C. to accept the award.
